My name is Loretta Taylor Bailey. I attended Shawswick from grades 1-9; sophomore year at Oolitic; junior and senior years at Heltonville. I married David Bailey in 1969, and we have two sons, David Jr. and Donald. We have lived in the middle of Heltonville for thirty-seven years. David Jr. is married to Janette and they live in Springfield, Ohio and have our only grandchild, Georgia Taylor Bailey, who is 2 1/2 year olds. Donald is married to Carrie and they live in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
I started teaching in 1971 at Needmore Junior/Senior High School. Then with consolidation in 1974, I moved to Shawswick Junior High which is now a middle school. Originally I taught 8th English for nine years, but when Bob Edwards passed away I took his history and geography position. Presently I teach 7th grade world geography, advise the yearbook, coach the spell bowl and academic teams, and sponsor the SMS Jr. Beta Club.
I went to school at Shawswick for nine years and now have taught there for thirty-three years. Shawswick was and is a wonderful place to be!
