Linda (Ashley) Webber

(Bio submitted July 2007)

After graduating high school, I worked at RCA for about 1 year night shift. I quickly decided that working night shift was not for my young age. I then went to work at Essex in Orleans on day shift. I guess factory work was not for me.

I married Jack Rainey and had a son Shannon Dale and a daughter Amber Lynn. Jack and I were divorced when our daughter was 3 years old in 1976. I then went to House of James Beauty School. After several years of doing hair for family, church people and friends (you know how that goes), I decided that I would do something else. I went to Oakland City College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science.

In June 1977, I met my current husband Bart Webber and we dated for seven years and married in 1984. Along with my new husband, I was also blessed with two step-sons Grant and Mark. After Bart and I were married, we moved to Noblesville. Bart was Branch Manager for the Sherwin-Williams store and I went to work for Noblesville Casting, Inc. as an executive secretary. While living in Noblesville, my son Shannon was killed tragically in a car accident in Bedford while visiting my parents in July 1986. After Shannon's death, my heart was still in Bedford since he was buried here, so we moved back to Bedford in 1989.

Bart retired from Sherwin-Williams after 20 years and has been a real estate broker since then. I have been working for the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department since 1991 as a finance clerk.

Our son Grant is a marine biologist and is the manager of the Fish and Wildlife Property in Uvalde, Texas. His wife Susan is an elementary music teacher. They live in Texas with their two Children, Ashton 4 years of age and Allison 2 years old. Mark is an architect with Esteridge Group in Indianapolis. His wife Kristie is a medical representative. Mark and Kristie live in Cicero, Indiana with their 2 children, Mackenzie 17 years and Alex 15 years. Daughter Amber is an investigator for Shawswick Trustee office and is married to Mike Branham who is a detective for the Sheriff's Department. Mike and Amber have three children, Tanner 14 years, Taylor 12 years and Emillee 10 years and they live in Heltonville, Indiana.

I am very active in my church, I was missionary president for 15 years, I am still the church board secretary and I sing in our praise and worship team, also do solos, duets and quartets.

I love to camp, travel, go to yard sales and I have taken up a new sport which is golf and I really enjoy the game. I have been very blessed with good health and a wonderful family.
