Judy (Baker) Mason
(Bio submitted July 2007)
Little did I know that
my love for math and office machines in high school would end up being my
lifetime career, but for the past 40 plus years that is what I have done every
day in the accounting and tax preparation field. I married Kenny Mason (a 1964
SHS grad) in 1969, and together we had three sons. In 1973 we built our home in
Bedford that I still live in today. In December 2001 Kenny died of a heart
attack. I have lived alone since then; however, all of my sons live in Bedford.
I have one grandson who lives next door and is my best buddy. I still work full
time and have no immediate plans to retire. I love taking care of my place, oil
paint in my spare time, and play the organ at church, and spending a lot of time
with my family. If there's anything I have learned over the years, it is this -
being successful is not in how much money one makes, or having power or prestige
or owning a business, it is having friends whom yo love and care about and can
help along the way. It is about hearing the words "Well done, thou good and
faithful servant" when we get to the end of our life. It is about learning
to enjoy everyday life. The older I get, the more I think about "Only one
life, will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."
