(Bio submitted May, 2007)
Well
it’s 2007 more than 40 years and if I’d known I was gonna live this long I
would have taken a heck of a lot better care of myself. Of course on the other
side of the coin. I still wonder where all those years went. I can remember them
but it don’t seem that long ago.
I
went into the Army in Jan 66, learned to work on telephone (central office)
systems, got out in 68 and traveled around the country until 71 when I took a
job on phone systems in Vietnam (as a civilian). I also spent a little time in
the
Marshall Islands
and the
Philippines
. In the years I transitioned from central office to office telephone systems
and finally in 94 I decided to change and went to work on something less
stressful. Computers! Did technical support and help desk until 2001 when
my eyes started failing on me.
I’ve kind of wandered all over the place. Now I think I’ve finally
decided to stay where I am. I live in the Reno/Sparks NV area. (almost on the
city limits of both). One of the reasons I think I’m gonna stick around here
is that the bus service is good, and I can’t see across the street anymore
without a pair of binoculars. I also use the same binoculars to read the
menu at McDonalds and Wendy’s.
